We are a church that appreciates questions. We don’t want to check our brains at the door. We believe that the God of all truth is most glorified in us when we utilize the capacity he gives us to explore the world around us and the Word in front of us. Because we value seeking truth, we don’t require 100% agreement in every area from everyone who attends. In fact, we believe that the conversations that flow from different perspectives are a gift from God allowing us to grow together as we seek his truth. In the oft-repeated words of Meldenius, our goal is, “In essentials: unity, in non-essentials: liberty, in all things: love.”

We are a Bible-based church. We affirm that the Word of God is the ultimate standard for our worship, fellowship, and discipleship. We affirm that the Bible is inspired by God, infallible and inerrant in its original manuscripts, and a faithful revelation of God and his attributes. Because there are many interpretations of what the Bible says, we seek to hold closely those doctrines most clearly revealed in the text while offering grace in those areas which are not as clear.

We are a Christian church. The following statement is adapted from several early creeds which have been affirmed by faithful Christians for centuries: We worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity, neither confusing the persons or dividing the essence. We believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate and was crucified, died, and was buried. He, who descended into death, rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe in the timeless and worldwide church and the fellowship of the saints. We believe in the forgiveness of sins and the resurrection of the body and everlasting life for those who place their faith in Christ.

We are a Southern Baptist Church. Therefore we recognize the most recent Baptist Faith & Message as an accurate summary of the Bible’s teaching. For example, we affirm salvation by grace through faith, baptism as a sign of obedience for those who have placed their faith in Jesus as Lord, and we are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by making disciples who obey the Lord locally, regionally, and globally.
